IAAF welcomes two new members

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced two new members joining its fold.

Mobiletron, manufacturer of engine management sensors and rotating electronics, and TVS EAG (Excel), supplier of steering and suspension parts, will both be able to take advantage of the body’s membership benefits, including networking opportunities, informative events, dispute resolution cover, merchandise and more.

Mark Wilson, Mobiletron Marketing Manager said: “We’re very keen to promote the independent automotive aftermarket and joining IAAF seemed like the natural next step. Being part of this membership supports the aftermarket as a whole as well as who we are and what we represent as a company. We very much relish the chance to become a proactive member, not just to raise Mobiletron’s profile within the aftermarket but also champion the IAAF’s Right2Choose campaign, something we feel very strongly about.”

Mobiletron specialises in components for the automotive industry and export to over 100 countries worldwide. Designing and manufacturing OE and OES parts for over 30 years, the company has been supplying remanufacturers, distributors and motor factors since 1982. Its comprehensive range of engine management and rotating products includes Ignition Coils, Charging Systems, Sensors and TPMS.

TVS EAG managing director, Martin Butterworth, said: “Joining the IAAF will enable us to keep up to speed with industry relevant news and issues, as well as cast our net wider thanks to the networking opportunities it offers. We look forward to being part of the organisation and working alongside our fellow members as we help to steer our customers through the challenges ahead.”

EAG started out in 2003 as Excel Components, offering its affordable brand of Steering and Suspension to the UK aftermarket. In early 2014, Excel announced its offer of a two-year warranty on all products to guarantee peace of mind to all customers.

Ownership of the company changed in 2015, creating a partnership of over 55 years’ experience within the industry and enabling the business to develop further. This was shortly followed by an extensive facelift to include a warehouse move, a new name and new branding, when Excel Components became Excel Automotive Group Ltd (EAG). The company recently became part of the TVS Group.

IAAF chief executive Wendy Williamson adds: “We welcome Mobiletron and are thrilled that such an industry heavyweight has joined our ranks. We are also delighted to welcome TVS EAG and are positive that they will be a valuable addition to the membership. It is fantastic to gain another outlook on how the independent aftermarket can continue to thrive and overcome the challenges it faces in the coming year and beyond.”
