Autogem TPMS Expert finals to take place at UK Garage & Bodyshop Event

Aftermarket supplier Autogem will be holding the finals of its TPMS Expert competition at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event on 8th June.

The company has revealed that more than 1,000 retail sites were represented during the qualifying rounds of the competition, which is taking place for the first time this year. Twelve finalists have now been determined, made up from two national retail chains, two regional chains, three small independent tyre retailers and a mobile tyre retailer.

The 12 finalists will now be invited to take part in the grand final at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event at the NEC, Birmingham, where winners in the large retailer and small retailer categories will be crowned as Autogem’s TPMS Expert 2022 winners.

“To have over 1,000 sites represented in the competition is testimony to how seriously so many businesses are taking TPMS,” states Managing Director Prashant Chopra. “We are grateful to them for putting forward their ‘gladiators’ considering the backdrop of staff shortages throughout the industry.

“We created this competition to raise TPMS standards across the aftermarket and empower technicians to be genuine experts in the area. TPMS is a vitally important component on vehicles today and we want to further bring this point to life.”

The online qualifying rounds featured a series of multiple-choice questions set against the clock and were especially organised to take place during the MOT slump to assist retailers. “We were delighted to see such a strong appetite for the competition and TPMS as a whole,” added Chopra.

Automotive motoring expert and journalist Rob Marshall, Chief Executive at the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) Stefan Hay and Autotech Training Director Dave Walker comprise the judging panel, ahead of what the company says will be an exhibition of TPMS excellence at the Garage & Bodyshop Event in June.

Competition sponsors include Autotech Training, CAM Systems and Michelin Pro Series Wiper Blades

“We always wanted to celebrate excellence when it comes to TPMS and I can confirm the level of knowledge demonstrated through qualifying was very high,” Chopra concluded. “The 12 finalists and their businesses should be very proud of their qualification and we are incredibly excited to see how they get on with the fun and challenging final we have setup for them on June 8th.”
