The view from Goodwood
The Goodwood Festival of Speed has become more than just a mecca for motorsport. over the last few years, the event has grown to embrace the entire automotive industry.
This means that more and more aftermarket companies have come to Goodwood, with stands resplendent in automotive culture. From Wera Tools and its Porsche and Mini race cars, to Bilstein, with its off-road vehicles, each brand stands out in its own way.
In this episode, recorded in part during the drive home from Goodwood with the event still fresh in his mind, Phil also introduces an interview with Elite Garages. Attending their fourth Festival of Speed, this is the most crucial year for the emerging chain, having expanded this year thanks to acquiring some former ATS Euromaster locations. With the Vredestein Horse, a life size horse sculpture made of used tyres and created by a Dutch artist, front and centre of its stand, the garage group certainly stood out.
Also at Goodwood was a range of new cars and emerging brands that workshops can expect to hear more from in the coming months and years, including BYD, with its biggest presence ever.

Also in this episode, Phil speaks to Steve Horne, CEO of GSF Car Parts, on the edge of TechFest Newcastle, to find out more about the event, the philosophy behind it, and what attendees can expect to see from upcoming events.
Horne also discusses the current state of the automotive industry and how the aftermarket can react to new and emerging technologies. He also goes into detail on the progress of GSF Car Parts over the last few years, and what the factor group has planned for the future.
