A1 ADAS Group has acquired Autocalibration Ltd., as it expands its offering to the aftermarket.
Autocalibration Ltd., will continue under its current name, and becomes a subsidiary of the A1 ADAS Group. The West-Midlands-based company will sit alongside the Group’s existing subsidiary companies, A1 ADAS Solutions and A1 Remote Diagnostics.
Autocalibration’s staff, including founder Gavin Jenks, will remain in the business. Jenks will become the regional director for the West Midlands.
The acquisition is described by A1 ADAS Group’s board of directors, Iain Molloy, Helen Molloy, and Adam Molloy, as “a significant step in strengthening the Group’s position in the sector.”
“Autocalibration is a successful mobile ADAS calibration and programming services company with an excellent reputation in and around the West Midlands,” commented Iain Malloy.
“As well as the business being a natural geographical fit for us, Gavin and his team’s values are completely aligned with those of the A1 ADAS Group. This was our number one prerequisite.”
Autocalibration meets standards
“Being a business which operates to the British Standard 10125 Kitemark, we work to a very high bar,” added Helen. “Our ethos of ‘doing it right’ runs through every single aspect of the Group’s operations, and it was clear the team at Autocalibration strive for that level of service too. We are thrilled to have them on board.”
The move will accelerate A1 ADAS Group’s offering nationally as it remains the only company in the UK automotive aftermarket to provide ADAS and diagnostic services alongside tool and equipment distribution; a point of difference that caught Jenks’ eye.
“What Iain, Helen and Adam have built and created to date with the A1 brand is both impressive and inspiring,” said Jenks. “I share their ambition.
“However, my vision for Autocalibration to become a significant player in this fast-evolving area of the sector, required significant investment. That is a tough hill to climb on your own, so it was a no-brainer to join forces with A1 ADAS Group. I trust them implicitly.
“Understandably, I am very protective of Autocalibration’s staff and customers, so was mindful that this had to be a good move for them too. It is, without a doubt.
“Staff will benefit from working with a family-orientated, forward-thinking, and innovative business, and customers will benefit from a whole new range of products, services, and technical support.
“They will have access to independent and trusted advice from a group of companies that understand exactly what they need, because as well as providing ADAS and diagnostic equipment, A1 do the same calibration and programming work every day that their customers do.
“There is no better way to know what solutions garage owners are looking for, than to stand in their shoes. That is what makes the A1 ADAS Group unique, and I am very proud to now be part of it.”
Adam Malloy concluded: “It is exciting times indeed for the Group. The acquisition of Autocalibration is just the start, and any company that feels an alignment with our ethos should get in touch.”
