Zuber Issa invests in legacy
The investment signifies a commitment to preserving Duckhams’ heritage and a bold vision for the future, positioning the brand as a major player in the evolving lubricants market.
“Duckhams is a brand with an extraordinary legacy and immense potential for growth,” stated Zuber Issa CBE. “I am confident the brand will resonate with customers both in the United Kingdom and globally given car manufacturers are producing more efficient vehicles that need premium grade oils and fuels.”
“By investing in innovation, sustainability, and strategic market expansion, we can ensure Duckhams can establish itself to be a leader in the lubricant sector for years to come.”
For 125 years, the lubricants company has been a pioneer of product innovation and excellence, carving a history of ground-breaking achievements, from setting the land speed record to developing Europe’s first multigrade oil. It also has a long history in motorsports.
Alexander Duckham established his oil company in 1899, and his entrepreneurial, pioneering spirit has been at the company’s heart since then. Duckhams was responsible for developing revolutionary new process oils that controlled the build-up of carbon deposits in the 1920s and launched the first synchromesh gear oil in the 1930s.
In 1951, Duckhams introduced Europe’s first multigrade oil, an innovation which transformed lubrication technology forever.
