EAG appoints former Suplex expert to assist during ‘transition period’

Excel Automotive Group (EAG) has recruited Sam Cotterill to its team, brought in, initially, to assist Suplex’s relocation to its new and exclusive distributor.

After five years at Suplex, developing the relationship between brand and customer, Sam is the perfect person to be the conduit between the two brands.

He said: “I will help ease the transition period by being a familiar voice to customers who have used Suplex previously, as well as handling technical queries and driving sales. As with all new projects, the initial few weeks are when everyone is finding their feet with a new way of working.

“In terms of the product, customers can expect the same original equipment specification, German-manufactured quality coil spring they have known for many years. When it comes to availability, thanks to the support of Suplex Germany, a range of more than 3,500 part numbers is replenished weekly.

“Feedback so far has been positive; customers are pleased that a premium brand, like Suplex, is readily-available within 24 hours at such a competitive price.”

In the long-term, Sam’s focus will spread to other brands. He has been particularly pleased with the company’s drive, focus and ambition: “I will also help EAG and its other ranges, including Monroe shock absorbers, Brembo brakes and Champion wiper blades.

“I have been very impressed so far. From my initial visit, I could tell that it was a company with ambition and focused on building the business to achieve its goals. I look forward to being part of a team that is clearly going from strength-to-strength.”

EAG Managing Director, Adrian Lamb, said: “The EAG family continues to grow with Sam’s appointment, and having someone that has been immersed in the Suplex environment for many years will be of huge benefit to us, as we continue to push the brand in the direction of our customers.

“As Sam eluded to, Suplex is a trusted and quality brand, and with him in charge of development, EAG is now in an evenstronger position, as we move into the next phase of our development.”
