As 2022 came to a close, independent garage website provider Garage Services Online had cause to celebrate, with 11 of its customers winning top industry awards during the last three months of the year.
Across all seven categories in the Top Garage and Top Technician awards, the company celebrated four of its independent garage website customers being category winners, one being a runner-up, and one being a finalist.
This was followed by the Servicesure awards where three customers won their respective regional categories to become North East, Midlands and South West Autocentre of the Year.
Next came the GroupAuto awards, with Hogg MOT being named the Autocare Garage of the Year. Finally, Terry’s Auto Repairs was crowned winner of the Motor Ombudsman Regional Garage Star Awards for Wales.
Jim Lang, Managing Director at Garage Services Online, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the company behind the online presence of these award-winning garages.
“They are all thoroughly deserving of their accolades and have worked incredibly hard to get to this level.
“A common factor amongst these winners is they all have one of our websites; I would like to think it is not just a coincidence!”
Brand awareness with an independent garage website
Creating a strong independent garage website is a great way to raise awareness of a brand, as well as promoting your business to a wider audience, while also being able to manage bookings online, an important factor in the digital age.
“One of the reasons I am so proud is because its recognition at the highest level that when a garage commits to doing online with a specialist such as ourselves, it is about so much more than just attracting work. It is about becoming a better business.
“Garages do not have a problem getting work on their ramps; most are taking bookings up to three weeks in advance. However, what they do have a problem with, is booking the work that is the best and most profitable fit for their garage.
“When a website is specifically seeking out the work a garage wants and attracting the right enquiries, it becomes an integral part of that business’ success. It contributes to customer satisfaction, better workflow, and ultimately, profitability.
“This is something all of our customers recognise, whether they choose to enter awards or not, and we’re behind them all the way.”
Garage Services Online customers with recent award recognition include: Shaikly Motor Company; Hunters of Linlithgow; Robert Cockings; CSN Autos; John Hall Mobile ADAS Calibration; Dunlop Motors; Simon Graeme; GP Auto Services; Terry’s Auto Repairs; Hogg MOT and newly signed Billingborough Cars & Commercials whose website is under construction.
Awards success for Garage Services Online
Alongside its customers, Garage Services Online also celebrated success at the end of the year, as it pick up the accolade of ‘Highly Commended Service Provider of the Year’ at the IAAF Pride of the Aftermarket awards in December.
The awards, which were held at the prestigious IAAF Conference and Dinner on 8 December, were attended by over 600 people from across the aftermarket sector.
Lang added: “We are thrilled to receive this award in what was a fiercely fought category. And we’re especially proud as it was our industry peers and customers who voted for us to win.
“Garage Services Online is becoming known as a provider whose websites make a real and tangible difference to an independent garage’s success. This award means a lot because it highlights that those who work with us, think so too.”
The IAAF Conference itself highlighted many of the challenges the aftermarket is facing, and much of this will be borne by independent garages. Therefore, Lang concluded, having a strong online presence will become more crucial to help steer through these potentially difficult times and still see success.
