Gates Belt-in-Oil range for Ford Ecoboost 1.0

At present, two timing belts are available in the Gates Belt-in-Oil range for Ford EcoBoost 1.0 litre applications. These are the T354HOB, with a width of 18.1mm, and the T359HOB, with a width of 16mm. Both timing belts measure 1,105mm in length, and are also available in various Gates Powergrip Kit formats, with details available on the Gates online catalogue.

The new range of Gates Belt-in-Oil belts offers significant enhancements for installers and their garage customers. They provide improved wear and chemicals resistance, belt back resistance and low belt elongation over life, therefore providing enhanced lifetime safety.

The T354HOB is suitable for Ford Ecoboost engines including K02T354HOB, K03T354HOB, KP2T354HOB, KP3T354HOB. The T359HOB belt is for engines including K02T359HOB, K03T359HOB, K03T359HOB-1, KP2T359HOB, KP3T359HOB, KP3T359HOB-1.

Gates Belt-in-Oil Powergrip Kits further enhance Gates product portfolio. The range consists of Gates standard kits, which contain the timing belt, tensioner and fixing bolt, crankshaft oil seal and crankshaft fixing bolt, all needed to complete a standard repair.

Gates super-kits contain the complete gasket/seal set, timing belt, tensioner and fixing bolt, oil pump belt, crankshaft oil seal, diamond thrust washer and crankshaft fixing bolt.

Gates kits with part numbers beginning KP also contain a water pump with gasket and fixing bolts, along with the standard components included. These additional parts are deemed essential by the OE manufacturer for comprehensive system replacement procedures, and also ensure that technicians have all the parts for the job supplied in one Gates box. All parts are covered by the same Gates warranty.

Additional tooling

In addition to the Gates Belt-in-Oil kits, the company also supplies tooling to complete Belt-in-Oil installations.

For Ford EcoBoost engines, GAT5150 is the tool kit required, for the correct engine setting and locking of the crankshaft and camshafts, while GAT6160 is the 5:1 multiplier tool required for removal and correct installation of the new crankshaft fixing bolt, supplied in Gates Kits, to ensure the correct tightening torque and angular torque procedures are achieved.

GAT5252 is the oil seal installation tool required to enable accurate installation of the new crankshaft oil seal (supplied in Gates Kits) to the correct depth, with no damage to the seal or engine housing.
