Hella Gutmann mega macs PC SE gets DoIP and CAN FD capabilities

Hella Gutmann has announced the launch of its mega macs PC SE (Second Edition) giving technicians the very latest diagnostic capabilities – including support for cyber-secure vehicles and those using Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) or CAN FD protocol – at an affordable price and without the need to invest in an additional device.

The new model covers more than 40 manufacturers and over 48,000 vehicle models. Workshops simply plug the vehicle communication interface (VCI) into the OBD port to communicate wirelessly to the vehicle using any Windows tablet, laptop, or PC.

“This is an impressive all-rounder for any workshop requiring fast and precise diagnosis of vehicle faults,” said Julian Goulding, Head of Sales at Hella Gutmann. “From vehicle servicing to ADAS calibration, mega macs PC SE is incredibly versatile. It comes with all the benefits from the original, but now also has the capability for DoIP and CAN FD protocol too. We offer the tool with a rugged Windows tablet, but technicians can also use their own tablet or PC if they prefer.”

Best as standard

Standard functions include reading and deleting trouble codes in all ECUs, graphic representation of parameters with explanations, actuator tests, codings and basic settings of all systems, service resets, and automatic vehicle data storage.

For vehicles protected by a cyber security gateway, mega macs PC SE simplifies the diagnostic process by allowing workshops to bypass the hassle of individual manufacturer registrations, making it easier and more cost-effective to diagnose and service secured vehicles.

“Rather than registering for each individual OE portal, verifying your identity and following the steps for eventual diagnostic activation, mega macs users only need to authenticate themselves once with Hella Gutmann,” said Goulding. “After that, everything runs automatically for them.”

Extra access through mega macs PC SE

The mega macs PC SE software licence gives additional access to integrated wiring diagrams, inspection data, timing belt data, component test values, flat rate units, emission data and recall information.

“This latest launch reflects our dedication to providing advanced, reliable, and cost-effective diagnostic solutions that keep pace with the evolving needs of today’s vehicles and the workshops that service them,” added Goulding.

To celebrate the launch of the new mega macs PC SE, Hella Gutmann is offering a special trade-in deal. For a limited time, workshops can upgrade to the new model for just £2,325 + VAT, saving £300 off the regular price of £2,625 + VAT. The offer is available on the trade-in of any of the following models: mega macs 42 / 42SE, mega macs 56, mega macs 66, or mega macs 77.
