“From being the first to market with advanced brake pads to expanding Delphi’s nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensors and Delco Remy’s starter & alternator programs, we are focused on delivering products that meet the highest standards of performance and sustainability. As we continue to expand our coverage and capabilities, our goal remains clear: to provide our customers with the best-in-class products and solutions that keep them ahead of the curve.”
Technologies for every day at PHINIA
Among the highlights of its exhibit, Delphi is excited to unveil its all-new LCV brake pads at Automechanika Frankfurt. Developed specifically to meet the demands of the rapidly growing LCV market, the pads are designed to offer increased durability even under heavy loads. The first run of LCV brake pad stock is currently in development, with the initial part numbers set to be available at the start of next year.
Keeping with the braking theme, Delphi’s range of EV brake pads will also be on display at Automechanika Frankfurt 2024. As the first to bring EV brake pads for six major electric vehicles to the aftermarket in 2024, including the Tesla Model 3—the world’s best-selling EV last year—Delphi solidifies its leadership in contributing to sustainable, high-performance solutions. Awarded the AASA Leafmark™ ‘N’ rating, an honor held by 99% of Delphi’s brake pad range, these brake pads are designed to meet the unique demands of EVs. Featuring a durable silver powder-coated backplate for rust resistance and a multi-layered steel and rubber composite shim to minimize noise and vibration, they ensure a smoother, quieter ride, enhancing the EV driving experience.
Delphi’s Steering & Suspension (S&S) range, one of the company’s fastest-growing product lines, will also be in the spotlight at Automechanika Frankfurt. As part of an ambitious initiative to become the number one provider of S&S coverage in the EMEA region, Delphi will expand its range by adding 1,000 new part numbers in 2024, with a similar number expected in 2025, supported by a comprehensive cataloguing process.
Starting with sensors
In response to growing industry demand for replacement of nitrogen oxide sensors, Delphi is expanding its sensor range. First introduced in December 2023, the expanded lineup features 54 additional sensors currently in development, with the first batch launching in Q4 2024.
Of these, 19 are specifically tailored for commercial vehicles and trucks, enhancing Delphi’s coverage across diverse vehicle segments. Delphi’s unique three-cavity design, combined with rigorous testing, ensures durability and reliability in various climates, with the sensors playing a crucial role in supporting cleaner driving across the continent.
PHINIA, under the Delco Remy brand, has also expanded its starter & alternator program with a comprehensive all-makes range targeting seven leading European truck manufacturers, including Scania, Volvo, and Renault Trucks.
This new range, set to launch with 200 part numbers by year-end 2024 and expand to 400 by mid-2025, offers OE-level quality and assurances. Once the units are fully available, PHINIA is expected to provide extensive vehicle coverage by H1 2025.
Finally, PHINIA’s Hartridge brand will be showcasing its new hydrogen test rig, designed to test a wide range of hydrogen injector technologies including PFI, High Flow PFI, DI-CHG, and other emerging high pressure H2 injection applications. The rig gives users the flexibility to suit both development and low volume production facilities. Results then seamlessly integrate into the users’ database for an intuitive user experience.
