Point S Tyre & Autocare has told members they can expect a year of further network development and progress, building on a substantial investment made in 2022.
During 2022, the company made a considerable investment in its network of independent garages across the UK. The company states that its members benefitted from several initatives that were rolled out by UK Network Operations Manager Wayne Daniel, together with his team, during the year.
These investments are all designed to help independent garages within the Point S network to build their knowledge and their work, through various different means.
Training and fleet work for Point S members
A key focus for the network in 2022 was bolstering its training infrastructure. In September, Point S appointed Jon Taylor to the brand-new role of UK and European Training Manager, with Taylor responsible for researching, managing and overseeing a bespoke training programme for the Point S network
With the building blocks now in place, members will be able to take full advantage of Taylor’s extensive experience, arming themselves with the skills and knowledge they need to stay ahead of the curve.
Last year also saw the network lay the foundations for its new fleet proposition to help members grow their presence in the fleet market. In August, Tony Valentine was appointed as Fleet Manager, responsible for building close relationships with UK fleet operators and working closely with network members to develop a ‘one-stop shop’ for fleet service, repair and maintenance.
Valentine’s appointment represented the first step in a long-term plan to replicate the success of Point S’ fleet model in Europe.
Visability of the brand
Investment continued beyond these projects, aimed at driving awareness of both Point S and its network, as well as boosting footfall, with various new marketing initiatives.
During October and November, a national television advertising campaign on Channel 4 saw over 15 million viewers invited to contact their local Point S Tyre & Autocare branch for a free, no obligation tyre check.
Members also benefitted from a redesign of the Point S website, www.point-s.co.uk, which saw an improved user experience to make it easier for visitors to access members’ own websites.
“Last year was one of development and consolidation for the Point S network,” commented Daniel. “Across the network, we took steps to provide each and every one of our members with the tools to safeguard their businesses in the present and for the future.
“Looking forward to 2023, and with 300 centres now under our umbrella, it is essential that we continue to deliver the right opportunities and support for our members to ensure that they can take their businesses to the next level.”
