The Supertracker STR1 laser half cab and trolley has now been updated to feature green lasers, with the wheel alignment specialist stating the new advancement will improve the visibility, precision and clarity of the laser line.
While many wheel alignment systems will use red lasers, Supertracker has found the green variant to be more accessible and useful in a variety of situations, both inside the workshop and outdoors in mobile applications, with a greater line of sight, and ability to track alignment over a longer distance.
Green laser benefits
The human eye is inherently more sensitive to green light due to the photopic response, a phenomenon where the eye’s peak sensitivity falls around 555 nanometers, which coincides with the wavelength of green light. This heightened sensitivity allows green lasers to appear brighter and more visible than red lasers to the human eye. They are even more visible to users who are colourblind.
Green lasers are also visible in a much wider range of light conditions, meaning its effective for work all year round, in both indoors and outside working environments. They also offer clarity and precision due to the brightness, all important factors in environments requiring pinpoint accuracy. This innovation led to an increase in popularity of green lasers in many applications, including construction, installation, surveying, medicine, entertainment, technology.
There is also a benefit for battery life of the laser system, another reason why Supertracker has now brought this enhancement to wheel alignment, offering its Supertracker STR1 laser alignment systems with green lasers.
The new systems offer a notable advantage for use by garage, tyre and MOT businesses with established facilities, and for technicians carrying out mobile wheel alignment. They are also beneficial for track days, race teams and home car enthusiasts.
