This year’s London Motor Show went by a different name, as the event embraced the technology, as well as the automotive prowess of the latest vehicles to grace UK roads.
Taking place at ExCeL in London’s Docklands for the second year, this is not the motor show of old. Yet while there may be fewer vehicles, this is a family friendly show, one intended for petrolhead and buyer alike.
This time around, the show welcomed a number of manufacturers, both in person and through various dealership groups. MG were present and again took centre stage, using the event to launch its new MG ZS EV, it’s first electric vehicle making its European debut. Hyundai also used the event as the UK show debut for its Tucson N-Line performance SUV and showed its i30N Wagon.
Another major highlight was the World Car Awards display, bringing together the biggest ever display of winners and shortlisted entries from the premier global automotive awards – the first time that so many winners and awards themselves have been seen together in the same place.
The live action zone also made a welcome return, and for 2019, is joined by a ‘Wall of Death’ exhibit. Visitors will have the opportunity to be taken for rides in various drift cars, and watch the professionals performing stunts that should definitely not be tried on the roads!
The London Motor and Tech show takes place from 17-19 May at ExCeL in London. Book your tickets here
