Automechanika Birmingham Bodyshop Programme expands for 2023 event

The biggest ever Automechanika Birmingham bodyshop programme has been revealed for 2023, with three new standout features announced ahead of the show on 6-8 June.

The event will host its first Paint & Spray Live, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience demonstrations first hand at the show and see the latest paints and spray guns in action within its fully ventilated and operational spray booth, courtesy of Masterflo.

Another brand-new feature for 2023 will be Collision Repair Live, with short, sharp demonstrations taking place every 15 minutes from leading suppliers to the UK repair sector.

It will allow bodyshop visitors get up-close and personal with the most up-to-date products and techniques to help them perform their tasks more effectively and efficiently.

On display as part of the Automechanika Birmingham bodyshop programme will be a range of sessions covering paint and spray guns, polishing, plastic repair, dent pulling, welding, including plastic welding, and more.

Further additions to Automechanika Birmingham bodyshop programme

Also new for 2023 will be Detailing Live, with education partner and curator of the programme, The UK Detailing Academy, inviting professionals to join them for practical demonstrations and discussions about the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

“With so many exciting and informative segments specifically dedicated to bodyshop professionals set to take place at the show, it is clear that Automechanika Birmingham is a must-attend event for those within the industry,” said Richard Hearn, UK sales director at Masterflo.

“Bodyshop work is very much a visual art and therefore being able to offer visitors the opportunity to see the latest products and their capabilities during live demonstrations from some of the very best painters in the industry was extremely important to us. And we can’t wait to do just that at what’s lining up to be one of the biggest and best events in the automotive aftermarket calendar.”

National Paint Championships taking place

As part of the Automechanika Birmingham bodyshop programme, the event will also host the National Paint Championships, with the winner being announced in a live ceremony at the show on 7th June 2023.

With the Championships being completely free to enter, automotive painters will be tasked with designing the most impressive car shell to showcase their classical paint technique, in a bid to be crowned National Paint Champion.

The designs will be on display during the course of the show from 6-8 June, and a professional jury will decide on their favourite design live on stage at the show.

Visitors will even get to see the National Paint Championship judges in action during the Paint & Spray Live demonstrations.
