Misleading packaging still causing issues for lubricants

Overclaiming what a product can do causes consumer confusion and creates unfairness in a marketplace. With this in mind, VLS, the Verification of Lubricant Specifications, has announced the outcome of cases VLS010152 and VLS010156: complaints against two different Vetech 5W30 Multi-Fleet oils, marketed by GSF Car Parts Ltd. The first case related to the Vetech SSL PRO Universal Performance Multi-Fleet ILSAC Standard Service Oil and alleged inconsistencies in the Technical Data Sheet, including that the product claimed to be produced from Group 2 and Group 3 base stocks, that the formulation was suitable for applications requiring VW 504/507, VW 502/505, MB 229.51, WSS-M2C913-A,B,C and Dexos 2 and that there were no additive formulations capable of achieving all of these specificati...

New warehouse aims to improve Liqui Moly deliveries

News, Oils and Lubes
German oil company Liqui Moly has significantly improved its delivery times by opening a warehouse of its own in Milton Keynes. Since the company’s production facilities are limited to its two sites in Germany, previous practice has been to cluster orders before transporting them across the channel. This was not just complicated but time-consuming, too. The new warehouse in Milton Keynes makes the entire process faster and more straightforward: instead of having to wait a fortnight, customers now receive their goods within one or two days. "It's important for us to ensure our customers don't have to wait long for their orders arrive," says Ibrahim Memis, who is responsible at Liqui Moly for trade in the UK. "We're now more flexible and can offer a much better delivery service,

Liqui Moly sold to Würth Group

News, Oils and Lubes
German oil company Liquid Moly has a new owner, after the Würth Group, until now a silent partner, bought the remaining shares from CEO Ernst Prost to take full control of the business. Distributed by Andrew Page in the UK, Liquid Moly started life in 1957 supplying additives to engine oil manufacturers, before entering the market itself. Today it is one of the biggest suppliers in Germany, and has been working to establish itself on the British market over the last few years. The takeover comes at a time when the company is 'fit and healthy' with a successful sales record in 2017, according to a statement. Prost comments: " I have hereby secured the future of LIQUI MOLY for a time when I may no longer be at the helm myself. I wanted to make provisions with a minimum of fuss, whe
