GSF Car Parts Wembley opens as recruitment continues

GSF Car Parts is continuing its aim to build on its presence in London by expanding its staffing at branch level following the opening of GSF Car Parts Wembley earlier this month.

The motor factor has added more than 60 new staff members to its roster in the Greater London area, many of whom cite the company’s aggressive, autonomous and accelerated approach to growth as a key draw in their move from competitors.

The news comes following the opening of GSF Car Parts Wembley, the second new site opened in 2024, and the first of an expansion for the factor group in the Greater London area. The location is also special for Chief Executive Sukhpal Ahluwalia, with Wembley being his home turf.

Recruitment drive continues

CEO Steve Horne and the GSF leadership team hosted a welcome meal for new staff in early March, with the company taking charge of a popular restaurant in Harrow, North London.

“It is really important to me that people understand the energy and momentum we have got here,” Horne commented. “There is such a buzz at GSF now and it feels like the shackles are off for our people. They are committed to going hell for leather because they know we will have fun along the way, and they will get rewarded for our success.”

“People can see this is a company that’s going places and I’m really excited to see the calibre of staff we are bringing on board.”

Chief Talent Officer Martin Gray added: “We are humbled to see so many of our industry’s most talented people, many with over 20 years’ service with our competitors, joining us over recent weeks.”

GSF Car Parts has been expanding its team at branch and management level in recent months, following its acquisition by private equity firm Epiris and the Ahluwalia family office in November 2023, with Steve Horne appointed as CEO and Sukhpal Ahluwalia as Executive Chair. The buyout came following LKQ Corporation’s buyout of Uni-Select, which would have fallen foul of the Competitions and Mergers Authority by creating a monopoly, had it not divested itself of GSF Car Parts.

GSF Car Parts Wembley

GSF Car Parts Wembley opened on 4th March, and another north London site will follow in mid-March in Park Royal, taking the total number of branches in London to 16. The company has plans for several more Greater London stores in the near future as it seeks to supercharge its service to customers in the capital.

Joining 13 other branches in the London area, the new GSF Car Parts Wembley branch is managed by Faraz Sarwar, whose team has more than a century’s experience in the trade.

By 2025 GSF will operate more than 200 branches across the UK, making it the fastest growing provider in the industry.

GSF Car Parts Executive Chairman Sukhpal Ahluwalia said: “The GSF team are doing a tremendous job of accelerating our growth by getting these new branches kitted out, stocked up and ready to trade in record time. Being at our GSF Car Parts Wembley branch when it opened reminded me of my early days in the trade many years ago and it is great to see our team have the same hunger to win as I did back then.”
