Move4Ben to raise funds for industry

Automotive charity Ben has announced a new activity-based challenge, Move4Ben, starting on 1st June.

Move4Ben will challenge participants to exercise in any way they choose, and raise vital funds for the charity at the same time. The campaign will also help to inspire people to improve both they physical and mental health, while helping those in the automotive industry to face some of life’s toughest challenges with the best support possible.

To take part, each participant can set their own personal challenge in terms of distance and exercise type. For example, those taking part could walk 10,000 steps a day, dance for 100 hours, complete 10k on a space hopper or perhaps run 5k a day – whatever challenge they want to attempt.

Move4Ben will also promote some healthy competition within the industry and offer participants the opportunity to reconnect with others post-lockdown as they can take part with colleagues, friends, family, or on their own.

Fundraising goal

By taking part, participants commit to raising £100 – enough to pay for two mental health counselling sessions – and it’s a great way to stay fit and healthy, too. Participants have a month to complete their challenge, which ends on 30th June, and they can connect their fundraising page to Strava to track their progress.

After a difficult year, which has seen many facing preiously unimaginable personal and professional challenges, Move4Ben will help automotive people get back on track, funding vital support which is needed now more than ever.

“We’re really excited about our latest active challenge, Move4Ben! Giving people the opportunity to set their own challenge allows them to pick something they will personally enjoy and be creative, while also raising funds so we can continue to provide life-changing support for automotive people,” commented Matt Wigginton, director of Partnerships, Engagement & Income at Ben.

“We’ve been supporting more and more people with their health and wellbeing during this difficult time and we can only do this by continuing to fundraise through vital challenges like Move4Ben. We hope you’ll join us on this fun new challenge and be part of something amazing! We can’t wait to see what challenges you come up with – thanks so much for your support.”
